About Us
A room where families are not sold to
Almora Hearth is a small organisation in Kuala Lumpur offering general education and clerical support around family decision-making and household paperwork. We hold no professional licence; we work alongside the people who do.

How Almora Hearth came to be
Almora Hearth began in 2019 when two group facilitators noticed a gap in what was available to families in Kuala Lumpur. Counselling centres existed, lawyers existed, and financial planners existed. What was harder to find was a quiet, neutral space where a family could sit together, work through a shared question without anyone selling them a product, and leave with a written record of what they had decided to try.
The name comes from the idea of a hearth as the centre of a household — not the most dramatic part of the building, but the one that keeps things warm and organised. The word "Almora" was chosen simply because it sits gently in the mouth and carries no professional jargon with it.
We started by offering a single workshop on household transitions. Over time, families asked whether we could also help with the paperwork that accumulated during those transitions — insurance documents that nobody could find, identification papers spread across three different folders, tenancy agreements that everyone had lost track of. The document organisation service grew from that.
The facilitation programme came later, when households navigating longer transitions — an ageing parent moving in, a multi-year custody arrangement, a family business being wound down — asked whether there was something more sustained available. We designed a six-meeting structure that could hold those conversations over three months without anyone needing to commit to an outcome at the start.
Today we are a team of five. None of us holds a regulated professional licence. We are trained in group facilitation and clerical organisation. When a participant raises something that requires a lawyer, a doctor, a social worker, or a financial adviser, we stop and provide a referral list. We take that boundary seriously.
What Guides Us
How we hold ourselves
Neutrality
Our facilitators hold no opinion on the matter under discussion. We are trained to ensure each voice is heard — not to steer the conversation toward any particular outcome.
Clarity about limits
We begin every session by naming what we are not. We find that families are relieved rather than disappointed when the edges of a service are stated plainly at the start.
Quiet presence
We do not fill silences. We do not rush families toward a conclusion. We hold the structure of a session so that the people inside it can move at the pace that suits them.
Written records
Every session produces a written summary in plain language. Families keep that document. We do not retain records beyond the arrangement period without explicit consent.

How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Trained facilitators only
All session leads have completed accredited group facilitation training. No session is led by someone in their first month with us.
Privacy by default
Session notes are held for the duration of an arrangement only. We do not share participant details with third parties. Data handling follows Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Referral list currency
The referral lists we provide are reviewed and updated each quarter. Families can trust that the contacts we suggest are current and appropriate to the Klang Valley.
Small group limits
Workshop groups are capped at six households. When a group reaches capacity, a new date is opened rather than adding participants to an existing cohort.
Plain written summaries
Every facilitated meeting produces a summary written without jargon and reviewed by a participant before it is circulated to the household.
Registered in Malaysia
Almora Hearth is a registered business in Malaysia. Our Jalan Ampang premises are accessible by public transport and are ground-floor.
Family decision-making support in Kuala Lumpur
Families in Kuala Lumpur deal with the same range of household decisions that families anywhere face — aging parents, household moves, how to divide responsibilities when circumstances change, how to keep paperwork in order when several adults share a home. What is less common is a service that addresses the conversation layer of those decisions: not what to decide, but how to sit down together and work toward a shared understanding.
Almora Hearth was built around that gap. Our workshops teach listening structures that can be applied to any family discussion. Our document organisation service removes the administrative friction that often sits underneath a difficult conversation — a family cannot easily discuss a property arrangement if nobody can find the title documents. Our facilitation programme provides a neutral structure for the household decisions that take months rather than evenings.
We work in English. Our premises on Jalan Ampang are accessible by the Ampang LRT line. Workshop groups meet in the evenings to accommodate working households. Document organisation sessions take place at the family's home in most cases. Facilitation meetings can be held at our premises or at a neutral location agreed with all parties.
We do not offer legal advice, psychological support, financial planning, or any other regulated professional service. When a participant raises a matter outside our scope, we stop and point to the right person. We are a general education and organisational support service — nothing more, and we mean that plainly.
